Maritime flair and historical highlights - Xanten Youth Hostel
The class has long since embarked on an exploration of the Archaeological Park and now families are putting on their wet suits, conference and music groups are enjoying a break on the spacious sun terrace and sports teams are training on the artificial turf football field - there's always a lot going on at the Youth Hostel Xanten. No wonder - Xanten Youth Hostel is one of the 50 most-visited hostels in Germany.
The building - particularly attractive because of its great location right on the bank of Xanten's Südsee lake - is popular with groups and families. Here, visitors enjoy not only low-cost and modern accommodation - but environmentally friendly accommodation, too. The eco-friendly heating system uses wood pellets as a renewable energy source and the solar thermal system provides free solar heat for hot water generation.
Conference guests and musical groups will appreciate the comfortable amenities of the hostel: groups have modern rooms and 10 bright conference rooms - some with a view of the lake - at their disposal here.
But even families, leisure groups and classes feel at home here. Spacious double rooms and rooms with several beds provide space for solidarity and shared experiences. The many hiking and cycling trails are ideal for exploring Xanten and its surrounding area and for being physically active. Besides sports on land, it is water sports that are particularly important in Xanten: the various water sports on offer are a real highlight of the hostel. Diving, sailing or water-skiing - discover the flair of the Südsee lake in the Lower Rhine region.
